come join us. Summary/Objective Building from its core expertise of
administering residential energy efficiency programs, Abode
implements many utility and government-sponsored programs helping
homeowners and small businesses develop and implement plans to
electrify and decarbonize their buildings, while supporting
contractors to provide quality decarbonization services. The New
Hampshire (NH) Decarbonization Advisor (Advisor) will provide a
variety of support services virtually and in-person, including
decarbonization consultations, presentations, and trainings. An
initial priority of this role is to build a Heat Pump Installer
Network (HPIN) in a new market. This is a terrific opportunity for
someone with a strong background in building science and energy
efficiency to play a foundational role in building a program to
help realize the climate impacts of electrification. This project
will require flexibility and willingness to dive into all facets of
program implementation in a new geographic market for Abode.
Responsibilities Reporting to the Program Manager and working
closely with experienced members of Abode’s decarbonization team,
this position will include some or all of the following
responsibilities: Establish and maintain a NH Heat Pump Installer
Network (HPIN) In collaboration with the Program Manager, the
Advisor will develop a NH HPIN, which includes contractor outreach,
enrollment support, application review, and ongoing contractor
support. Contractor education around the benefits of joining the
optional HPIN will be a priority in establishing this new resource
for NH. Once enrolled, the Advisor will be a primary support for
contractors, providing account management and ensuring
accountability. Collaborate on the development and improvement of
program resources and guides The Advisor will work collaboratively
with internal and external partners to develop new educational
resources and tools, as well as improve and adapt content to meet
evolving program needs and technology updates. Build relationships
with contractors, building owners and stakeholder groups to
establish support channels that enable effective outreach and
ongoing support Working with varying stakeholder groups, conduct
regular outreach and education initiatives like business walks and
webinars to engage, educate, and provide guidance on
decarbonization through NH Saves. Support services may also include
virtual and in-person presentations, distributor tabling, and event
representation. Strong verbal and written communication skills, as
well as the ability to effectively engage contractors, are
required. Conduct decarbonization assessments, the majority of
which will be virtual, with residential customers and commercial
building owners (focusing on small-medium businesses) The Advisor
will follow protocols developed by Abode to conduct virtual and
comprehensive on-site assessments that combine the most important
elements of traditional energy audits with more holistic
electrification and decarbonization opportunities meeting the
customer or building owner’s goals. The Advisor will produce a
report summarizing these opportunities and a recommended action
plan. The Advisor will also work with Program Sponsor service
providers to ensure that customers are fully leveraging all
available resources, incentives, and rebates. Other tasks as
assigned by your Manager, including administrative duties (ie.
answering phone calls, staffing program inboxes, and conducting
data review) Abode is evolving multi-faceted programs for state
agencies and utilities utilizing a comprehensive blend of
education, technical assistance, and financial incentives to
accelerate the adoption of electrification and decarbonization
solutions. The Advisor role will evolve over time to encompass new
or changing responsibilities as these programs mature.
Qualifications Strong candidates for this position will bring most,
if not all, of the following skills and experience: Strong
technical expertise in residential and small-medium commercial
building science and energy efficiency, as evidenced by: A degree
in building science, mechanical engineering, sustainability or
other related fields, and/or Industry certifications such as CEM,
BPI, LEED, or other related credentials Previous experience in and
knowledge of building science obtained through work in utility
energy efficiency programs, HVAC design or installation,
construction, or other related businesses. Demonstrated aptitude
for learning industry jargon and technical content and translating
it into clear, concise, digestible information. Previous experience
in an advisory, educational, or customer service role providing
advice or assistance to customers. Familiarity with navigating
government or utility incentive programs. Previous experience
working as a contractor or engaging with such contractors. Ability
to travel to locations in NH as needed. Effective oral and written
communications skills; both 1:1 and in making presentations to
groups. Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese as well as English is a
plus. Demonstrated aptitude in quickly learning and working with
software such as Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and energy modeling
tools. Calm, even temperament suited to meeting people with
different needs and backgrounds where they are. Adaptable,
flexible, collaborative team player that brings a positive can-do
attitude. A self-starter, able to proactively manage competing
demands and changing schedules to complete tasks in a timely and
diligent manner. Compensation and Benefits This is a full-time,
exempt position with a starting salary plus bonus targeted between
$80K and $90K, depending on relevant skills and experience. The
Advisor will work primarily out of the employee’s home office along
with a mix of visits to client homes and meetings as needed both
across New Hampshire and in Abode’s Concord MA office. Abode offers
