The Salem site has 12 distinct product lines serving some of the world's most recognizable brands in both the commercial and defense markets. Our product portfolio includes Xenon flashlamps, Xenon flashlamp systems, high-energy switching devices, high-voltage power supplies and rubidium atomic frequency standards.We are presently seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician who is responsible for maintenance and repair of electronic, electrical and mechanical production equipment. This includes both planned and unplanned maintenance/repair activities to minimize production downtime. Some of the equipment includes high voltage equipment, electronic-driven processing equipment, mechanical high vacuum pumping systems, and high-temperature vacuum and hydrogen atmosphere furnaces.Main Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoots test and process equipment issues to repair to functional condition. This includes high voltage test kits, high voltage conditioning equipment, high vacuum (turbo) pumping systems, vacuum furnaces, hydrogen atmosphere furnaces, and laser welders;
  • Uses multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other electronic equipment to diagnose and fix equipment problems. Replaces defective components and parts as needed to return equipment to normal operating condition. This includes replacing components on PC boards;
  • Performs scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) activities on production processing equipment in accordance with PM plans;
  • Identifies critical spare parts/components for equipment. Works with manufacturing engineering to recommend appropriate preventive maintenance intervals;
  • Places purchase requisitions for replacement parts as required. Works with suppliers to coordinate larger-scale repairs.
  • Requirements:
    • Requires an Associate's Degree or equivalent training in Electronics, and 5+ years electrical/mechanical maintenance experience or equivalent training and/or experience;
    • Allocates time and resources efficiently, focusing on ever-shifting priorities, continually seeks way to improve individual/team efficiency;
    • Demonstrates professionalism in interactions with others and will work to constructively solve problems;
    • Must have the ability to electronically/electrically set up test equipment to troubleshoot and repair equipment;
    • Must have the ability to clearly read and interpret all work instructions;
    • Must have basic computer skills - experience with Windows/MS Office and able to learn PM software database.
    • Practices safe working habits and complies with all applicable safety procedures and regulations.
    • Ability to stand and work for an 8 hour shift.
    • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to work overtime if necessary.Effective January 4th, 2022, it will be mandatory for every Excelitas employee to be adequately vaccinated against COVID-19.
