Product Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, and other
disciplines. The Salem site has 12 distinct product lines serving
some of the world's most recognizable brands in both the commercial
and defense markets. Our product portfolio includes Xenon
flashlamps, Xenon flashlamp systems, high-energy switching devices,
high-voltage power supplies and rubidium atomic frequency
standards.We are presently seeking a Process Technician who is
responsible for performing processes such as Pressure Testing
product, RGA Leak Checking, running exhaust pumps, gas backfilling
in a fast paced production environmentMain Responsibilities:
- Ability to perform the exhaust processing and testing of the
TOW lamps;
- This includes attachment of tubes to exhaust ports, bake out of
product, backfill of lamp, with appropriate fill gas;
- Hand Soldering with solder iron;
- Builds mechanical assemblies;
- Must have the ability to clearly read and interpret all work
instructions and be willing and able to suggest changes to improve
current practices;
- Ability to make decisions during processing on performance
(once trained to basic knowledge);
- Effectively communicates with and engages all levels of the
organization verbally and in writing;
- Works and relates well to others.Requirements:
- Requires 3-5 years of progressively responsible process
experience, or other equivalent training and experiences;
- Experienced hand solder (J-Standard trained), electromechanical
assembler, some training in vacuum technology and electrical
testing;
- Has previous experience manufacturing defense oriented product
is preferred;
- Ability to allocate time and resources efficiently, focusing on
ever-shifting priorities; continually seeks way to improve
individual/team efficiency;
- Basic computer skills;
- Has previous experience in a team-based workplace is
desirable;
- Has previous work as an operator in a chemical lab;
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.;
- Ability to sit for 6-8 hours a day or stand for 6-8 hours/day
based on work cell requirement;
- Adhere to gowning requirements in a controlled environment
which would include wearing finger cots, gloves, ESD Smocks and
Safety Glasses;
- Ability to work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature
but recognized the need for occasional deviation from accepted
practice;
- Ability to follow established procedures on routine work and
instructions on newly introduced assignments.Effective January 4th,
2022, it will be mandatory for every Excelitas employee to be
