Job Description Job Description We are now hiring an operations
manager to join the team at our Portland, ME location! Located at
765 Warren Ave., Portland, ME 04103. If you're looking for
long-term employment with a company you can grow with, this is the
position for you! Looking for someone with 2-3 years of warehouse
manager experience with WMS and handheld scanner experience. The
ideal candidate will manage and oversee all warehouse operations
and regularly communicate with customers and vendors, as well as
work directly with the regional operations manager to organize
policies, procedures, and special requirements. This is a working
manager position. Looking for someone with experience managing
multiple shifts/sites. Must be willing to work overtime, weekends,
and holidays as needed. What you'll be doing: Being available and
responsive to all shifts when needed, regularly participating when
required for additional coverage (i.e., shortchanges, weekend
coverage, etc.). Responsible for the overall operations, including
customer use, service, and contract KPIs. Maintain and respond to
warehouse metrics. Meet customer scorecard objectives. Lead
strategic continuous improvement to ensure efficient run and
profitable operations. Forklift Training – lead/assist in initial
training with employees, maintain recurrent training as required,
and individualized retraining to ensure safe operations daily.
Maintain accurate payroll records, including time approval of
timecards and time-off requests, and communicate any issues with HR
as required. Adhere to all attendance policy standards. Build and
maintain the accuracy of all warehouse SOPs and ensure training
requirements are maintained and documented. Hold supervisor staff
accountable for following job requirements and following through as
needed. Lead and participate in Accident Investigation and
Corrective Actions. Conduct drug tests per training and company
policy as required. For food grade warehouses, lead a food safety
culture. Audit and maintain food safety standards within a
facility. New employee onboarding and training – coordinate with HR
Business Partner to get new hire paperwork complete, sign off on
new hire training checklist. Complete/maintain all OSHA
requirements and any necessary Accident investigation, along with
maintaining a building safety and security plan in compliance with
company/client standards. Strategic planning of all distribution
services, including receiving, storing, shipping, handling, and
order fulfillment to achieve a high level of accuracy and avoidance
of claims. Oversee the efficient, cost-effective daily activities
of the warehouse, including labor scheduling, supervision, and
proper utilization of space and equipment, to ensure budget
objectives are met. Plan and monitor daily labor requirements based
on immediate and forecasted sales revenue, working with HR and
staffing agencies to maintain proper staffing. Create and maintain
a well-trained staff through cross-training and mentorship. Direct
and oversee job assignments to adhere to company policies as well
as Federal and State laws. Additional duties and responsibilities
as assigned. What we're looking for: Employee development and
performance management skills. Ability to supervise and train
staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work
assignments. Ability to foster a cooperative environment. Keen
organizational skills. Knowledge of inventory management practices.
Skilled in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based
operating environment. Ability to analyze processes and make
recommendations for improvements. Ability to develop, plan, and
implement short and long-range goals. Ability to stoop, push, pull,
bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly. Additional
Qualifications and Experience: 5 years of Warehouse Management
Experience preferred. WMS and handheld scanner experience.
Willingness to travel on an infrequent basis. Must obtain
Industrial Truck Certification through in-house training.
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as requested
by Supervisor. PPE as required by each facility – refer to handbook
for specific requirements. Working Conditions: Work involves
moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme
temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and loud noises.
