Job Description:
Working under the direction of the User Experience Manager, will
be responsible for contributing to user-centered design activities related to MathWorks products and web
applications; working with development teams to understand their projects’ user-centered design requirements,
and developing creative solutions to meet those needs; coordinating with the development team to follow a user-centered
design approach and working collaboratively to brainstorm and design innovative solutions to complex problems;
making recommendations to team members about which usability methods to use and responding to their questions
about users and design directions based on projects’ needs, goals and constraints; working closely with
team members to conduct user research, identify pain points, develop user profiles and create task lists;
collaborating on paper and functional prototypes; contributing
to requirements and design documents; running usability tests,
conducting interviews, organizing surveys, and performing other usability assessments; and helping the teams
interpret and understand user feedback, and providing input for design decisions based on that feedback. Education and Experience: Master’s degree or higher (or foreign education equivalent) in
Engineering or Computer Science and no experience. OR Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in
Engineering or Computer Science and five (5) years of experience in job offered or five (5) years of experience in
user-centered design. Special Requirements: • Demonstrated expertise programming in MATLAB, designing
Simulink applications, and providing technical support for MATLAB and Simulink. • Demonstrated expertise performing usability assessments,
including performing usability testing and conducting heuristic evaluations, customer interviews or site visits. • Demonstrated expertise collaborating on high and low fidelity
prototyping using Adobe Illustrator or Axure. • Demonstrated expertise interpreting and analyzing user
feedback using UX method of affinitization, evolving user workflows, and providing design recommendations to software
