Job Description:
Quality Control ManagerThe QC Manager will be responsible for
writing new HACCP plans, SOP s for production and assisting with
tasks related to auditing as directed by leadershipThe Quality
Control Manager is responsible for managing all the quality aspects
of their production facility and ensuring that all seafood products
are manufactured in compliance with specific company Food Safety
and QA requirementsThey will manage a team of Quality Control
Associates and work with production leadership to ensure company
compliance, driven by regulatory requirements and customer
specifications, are metThe QC Manager will lead, manager and work
to improve the inspection and grading of Grade-A seafood products,
perform and oversee microbial and moisture analysis, review and
respond to written reportsThey will be responsible for addressing
daily Food Safety issues within the production facility related to
product quality non-conformance and direct QC Associates and
Production leadership to corrective actionResponsibilities:Maintain
all Food Safety and Quality Assurance programs and
certificationsManage, lead, and develop the Quality Control team to
follow company QC and HACCP plansEnsure production facility adheres
to regulatory, Food Safety, and company standardsPerform internal
audits to ensure production plant is adhering to the Food Safety
systemsEnsure Food Safety and Quality policies and procedures are
maintained, understood, and followed by all employeesManage all
internal documentation within the facilityVerify daily QC and QA
recordsMaintain product specifications and ensure compliance within
the facilityManage and develop company SOP s and HACCP plans, as
requiredAssist QA leadership in the development and implementation
of new procedures and policies to increase business effectiveness
and efficiencies, as directedContribute to the development of new
products and processes with a focus on food safety and quality
control, as directedPerform customer return audits and assist with
root cause analysis and corrective actionPlan, prepare and
participate in all audits including: organic, kosher, customer,
FDA, internal and 3rd partySustain and improve ratings on annual
certificationsTechnical Qualifications:2-5+ years in supervisor or
manager role, experience in leading Food Safety & QC Teams in food
manufacturing3+ years in qualityBA in Chemistry, Biology, Food
Safety, Food Science, or related, requiredMS in Food Science ore
related, desirableHACCP Certification, requiredSolid understanding
of seafood or meat industry, strongly preferredSolid understanding
of government regulations and labeling requirements,
preferredProduction, manufacturing process flows, and lean
manufacturing experience, preferredExperience in large and small
company settings; experience and understanding of smaller company
growth opportunities and expectationsExperience and demonstrated
ability to effectively manage Food Safety and Quality systems
across departments and multiple locationsStrong project management
and organizational skills; able to prioritize and manage multiple
tasks and projects on timeExceptional interpersonal skills: able to
navigate organizations to build relationships and garner
supportAble to provide leadership and resolve employee problems,
complaints, and grievancesAble to provide support and training to
department managers to achieve goalsDrive an environment that
drives performance and a safe workplaceDrive an environment of
teamwork and open communicationTravel can be up to 10% of the
